For the past thirty years, Allen Dutton has been exploring the changing faces of Arizona's deserts, highlands, towns, and cities through the lens of his camera. Dutton's documentary photographs mirror historic images of the state and depict the effects of growth and development on the landscape since 20th century photographers captured Arizona's beauty on film. Dutton took precise steps to achieve the same angles, perspectives and lighting used in the early photographs he collected. The results reveal the consequences of mankind's efforts to tame the stark desserts and rugged mountains of the American West as well as Mother Nature's ability to rebuild and reclaim her own. They also convey the spirit and lore of Arizona's diverse landscape and people.

With more than 14,000 acres of beach, marsh, and dune habitats, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge has become one of the most vital and beautiful places in the National Wildlife Refuge System. It provides a natural feeding and resting area for millions of migratory birds and protects a variety of endangered species of animals and plants. Acclaimed photographer Irene Hinke-Sacilotto documents the inhabitants of the refuge with stunning photographic skill and recounts the glory of Chincoteague with her words.
